Why PazBy exists

A radar for the places you keep meaning to visit.

The problem

Everyone has this moment. You're driving home from work and you remember — for the fourth time this week — that you needed to swing by the hardware store. You're already four blocks past the exit. Tomorrow, same loop, same forgetting.

Or you're a week into a trip in a new city, and you realize you never went to the bookshop your friend insisted you visit. It was on the same street as your hotel. You walked past it three times.

The tools that already exist don't fit the shape of the problem. To-do apps make you remember to consult them. Calendar reminders fire at fixed times, not when you're actually nearby. Google Maps saved lists are a list — you still have to open them and remember to look. Google Maps reminders themselves run on Google's servers and Google is retiring them from Keep.

The decision

Build a tool that quietly remembers for you. You save the place once, you forget about it, you go about your life. Two months later when you happen to drive past — or two years later when you finally land in that city — PazBy taps you on the shoulder: "you wanted to swing by here." That's the whole product.

Not an app you have to consult. Not a list you have to maintain. A radar that runs in the background and only speaks up when it has something useful to say.

The principles

Privacy by design

No server. No account. No analytics SDKs. Encrypted local database. Backups encrypted with your passphrase — we can't read them.

One-time pricing

No server costs because there's no server. Nothing to subsidize, so no reason to charge you every month. $2.99 once, forever.

Actively maintained

Most free dedicated alternatives haven't shipped updates in years. PazBy ships regularly and reads every bug report personally.

About the developer

PazBy is built and maintained by one independent developer. No VC, no team, no investor deck. The same person who wrote the foreground service is the person who answers developer@pazby.app.

This means responses sometimes take a couple of days, and the roadmap is shaped by what actual users ask for. It also means there is no "growth team" trying to invent reasons to ping you.
